Bandago is a van rental company specializing in servicing the entertainment industry. While we rent to all kinds of people and companies, our primary clients are touring musicians.
We are seeking a fleet manager and associates to handle our brand new Lyndhurst, NJ location (10 minutes from the Lincoln Tunnel).
Responsibilities include the following:
Overseeing vehicle maintenance (including cleaning and mechanical repair). You will not be performing this work yourself for the most part, you will be monitoring others, but you shouldn`t be afraid to pitch in if necessary either.
Delivering and receiving rental vehicles to and from our clients.
Insuring that all client contracts are filled out properly.
Hiring of contractors and other vendors.
Answering your cell phone and returning calls promptly.
Answering your email promptly
Frequent deliveries - sometimes out of state.
Overseeing local promotion and advertising.
Maintaining records in a clean and organized fashion.
Keeping an eye on the master schedule, and communicating with the rest of the team about any problems or issues.
We are here for our clients 100%, so we sometimes need to help them on short notice, or on our days off. Dedication to customer service is a must.
What we want to see in qualified applicants:
Experience in the music business, preferably with some touring experience. This is a great job for ex-tour managers and musicians, techs and roadies who no longer tour.
Some experience or basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance. You don`t need to be an ASE certified mechanic, just know basic car stuff. You won`t be doing any repairs yourself, but we want you to be able to spot issues that could become future problems. We can train the right person, but don`t bother applying if you can`t tell a battery from a spark plug.
You must be a self starter, which is an overused word, but in our case we mean it. You need to have a certain amount of foresight in identifying what needs to be done, getting it done on time, and you need to be able to communicate effectively with the rest of the company.
Detail oriented - again another overused word, but this is essential. You will be responsible for overseeing vehicle maintenance, and it`s absolutely vital that all scheduled maintenance is performed and that all records are maintained appropriately.
A clean driving record is a must.
No drugs or alcohol. This is a no-brainer as we are talking about large vehicles here, and you will be driving them.
You must be over 21 years of age or older (required by our insurance company)
A current driver`s license
We need a minimum of three references, so make sure you provide them.
Compensation:
$13-$15/hour to start DOE
Fleet Manager Position salaried after three months
Accrued Sick Pay
Medical, Dental, Vision after one year full-time
